Belgard Fence Installation: The Torrance Owner’s Guide
Belgard fence installation in Torrance typically costs between $3,500 and $9,000 for a full replacement using Belgard fence panels, posts, and gates, though partial repairs on existing Belgard systems often come in lower. We stock Belgard-compatible fence components and can match most current and recently discontinued Belgard fence lines, usually scheduling installation within five to seven business days.
Most Torrance homeowners call us after noticing a fence post leaning, a panel pulling free from its bracket, or a gate that drags across the pavers. Sometimes it’s storm damage from the wet winters we get off the Pacific. More often, it’s a post footing issue that was never set deep enough in Torrance’s clay-heavy soil, which shifts with rain and drought cycles more than people expect.
Note: Mason Remodeling Co Torrance is an independent service provider. We’re not affiliated with Belgard, but we work with their fence systems every week because they hold up well in our coastal climate.
Which Belgard Models This Applies To

Belgard’s current fence lineup includes the Bel-Air, Metro, and Studio collections, plus the Westminster post-and-panel system that a lot of Torrance HOAs accept for front yard enclosures. Older homes in South Torrance and along the Del Amo corridor still have the discontinued Prestige line from the early 2010s, which uses a different post channel width than current models.
Here’s the compatibility gotcha most people don’t discover until they’ve already bought parts: Belgard fence panels from the Metro line will not seat into Bel-Air posts. The post channels, the internal notches, and the panel tongue profiles are all cut differently. We’ve seen homeowners order panels online based on a photo, then find they physically cannot slide them into their existing posts. Before you buy anything, check the inside face of one fence panel near the bottom edge. Belgard molds a faint series code there. If it’s worn off, measure the panel tongue width: Metro runs 1-3/8″, Bel-Air runs 1-1/2″.
For replacement parts, we recommend OEM Belgard components over generic aftermarket panels when matching an existing fence. The color blends, the texture grain, and the UV-stabilized pigment in Belgard panels are not well replicated by third-party suppliers. Aftermarket post caps and aluminum inserts are fine. Aftermarket panels, in our experience, fade within two Torrance summers.

Signs Your Belgard Fence Installation Is Failing
- Post lean at the base. This is almost always a footing problem, not a post problem. In Torrance’s expansive clay, a shallow concrete pour (some installers go only 18″) heaves with seasonal moisture and lets the post drift off plumb. The fix requires resetting the post in a deeper footing, typically 24 to 30 inches.
- Panels rattling or clacking in wind. Belgard fence panels ride in vertical post channels with a small tolerance. When the rubber shims at the bottom of each channel degrade or fall out, the panel bangs against the channel in gusts. It’s noisy, and it also accelerates channel wear.
- Gate dragging or refusing to latch. Gates sag when the hinge bolts loosen inside the post or when the gate frame itself was hung without a diagonal brace. On Belgard’s aluminum-frame gates, the corner brackets are the usual failure point.
- Visible white stress marks or hairline cracks near panel edges. UV and salt air are hard on molded polymer. Cracks starting at the top or bottom panel edges mean the material has lost flexibility and is now brittle.
- Fence line looks wavy from the street. When multiple posts have shifted slightly over time, the whole assembly snakes. Torrance properties on slopes, like the hills above Anza Avenue, show this most often because drainage carries water under the fence line and destabilizes footings.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

A full Belgard fence installation in Torrance runs $3,500 to $9,000. Partial replacements, say a single failed post and two adjoining panels, usually fall between $800 and $2,200 depending on the line and whether the gate needs re-hanging.
The spread on a full fence comes down to three things: total linear footage, the Belgard series you choose, and what’s under the fence line. A 60-foot Bel-Air fence with one gate on flat ground off Sepulveda is a very different job than 120 feet of Westminster on a sloped lot with shifting soil.
What’s included in our price: removal and haul-away of the old fence, new concrete footings, all Belgard posts, panels, caps, and hardware, gate installation with adjustable hinges, and cleanup. We give you a written price before any work starts, and that price doesn’t move unless you change the scope. You should know what’s happening in your home before anyone starts work, that’s just the job.
Our workmanship is covered by the 365-Day Done Right Promise. If anything we installed fails within a year of completion, we return and fix it at no charge.
DIY or Call Us?
Belgard fence installation is not in the same danger category as garage-door springs or electrical panels, but it’s a two-person job with real consequences for getting it wrong. A panel dropped on a toe is a broken toe. A gate that’s hung wrong will swing shut on a child. We don’t give step-by-step instructions for something that, done improperly, becomes a falling hazard.
What you can safely do: identify your Belgard series code, measure your total fence line, check which panels are loose or cracked, and mark which posts are out of plumb with a level. Those specifics help us give you a fast over-the-phone range before we come out to measure.
What we’d rather handle: everything from footing depth to panel seating to gate alignment. If you want to verify that your posts are salvageable before deciding on full replacement versus repair, call (424) 337-6939 and we’ll send someone who can read the failure in ten minutes.
FAQs

Expect 15 to 20 years from properly installed Belgard fence panels in Torrance, with posts potentially outliving panels by a few years. The combination of salt air, intense summer UV, and clay soil movement is the limiting factor. Panels a block from the coast fade and get brittle about three to five years sooner than ones up near the 405. Call (424) 337-6939 if you’re seeing early cracking and want an honest read on remaining life.
Yes, if the post itself isn’t cracked and the lean is from footing movement, we can reset it. The post comes out, the old footing gets broken up, a new hole goes down 24 to 30 inches with fresh concrete, and the post goes back in plumb. If the post channel walls are worn through from panel movement, replacement is the better call.
A standard residential fence of 60 to 100 linear feet takes two to three working days in Torrance. Day one is demolition and new footing excavation, day two or three is panel installation and gate hanging. We schedule concrete cure time into the plan so nothing shifts before the panels seat.
We keep the most common Belgard Metro and Bel-Air panel tongues, post caps, shims, and gate hinge kits on our truck. For full fence packages, we order directly from Belgard’s distribution network and have materials staged within a week for Torrance deliveries. Call (424) 337-6939 and tell us your series code and we’ll check stock while you’re on the phone.
